Terms of Service

CV Canadien is an online tool that lets you build a resume (CV) in the format expected by Canadian recruiters, using predefined templates and a guided form. Previewing your resume is free and unlimited. Downloading the final PDF file is a paid service, described in Section 4.

The Service may include an AI-powered assistant that generates a professional summary once the candidate's profile is complete (the “AI Assistant”).

You must create an account to finalize and download a resume. You can sign up with an email and password, or through your Google account.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity carried out under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

You retain ownership of all information you enter into the Service (work experience, education, skills, contact details, and so on — the “Content”).

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and transform your Content solely to the extent necessary to generate your resume and provide the Service — in particular to produce the downloaded PDF file.

You warrant that the Content you provide is accurate and does not infringe any third party's rights, and you agree not to include content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent (for example, false experience or qualifications), or that infringes the rights of others.

Previewing your resume is free. Downloading the final file requires either a credit pack (5 downloads for 10 CAD at the reference rate) or lifetime unlimited access, at the amounts shown on the Pricing page at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by third-party providers: Stripe for card payments, and a Mobile Money aggregator for mobile payments. We never receive or store your card numbers or Mobile Money credentials.

Displayed prices may be changed by the Service administrator; the price that applies is the one shown at the time of your purchase.

Given the digital, on-demand nature of the Service (unlocking download credits), purchases are non-refundable once a credit has been consumed to produce a download, except in the case of a technical error on our part or where required by applicable law. If you notice a duplicate charge or a technical failure, contact us at the address in Section 13 and we will make it right.

The AI Assistant relies on third-party language models. Its summary suggestion is provided for guidance only: you must review and validate any generated text before including it in your resume. We do not guarantee the accuracy, relevance, or error-free nature of the suggestions produced.

Use of the AI Assistant may be limited to a set number of requests per day, to keep the Service available for all users.

The Service, including the resume templates, interface, code, text, and the “CV Canadien” brand, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms grant you no rights in the Service other than the personal, non-transferable right of use described here. Your Content and the resume it produces belong to you.

We work to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend, or modify all or part of the Service (features, templates, pricing) at any time, with or without notice, including for maintenance or security reasons.

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with reasonable notice where circumstances allow, in the event of a breach of these Terms or fraudulent or abusive use of the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, including as to its fitness for a particular purpose or any guarantee of obtaining a job or an interview.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute relating to these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the judicial district of Québec, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights applicable in your place of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any material change will be announced on the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.
