Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how CV Canadien inc. (“we”, “us”, “CV Canadien”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the CV Canadien website and service (the “Service”).

1. Data Controller

CV Canadien inc. (Québec, Canada) is the controller responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. For any question or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@cv-canadien.com.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data: name, email address, password (stored encrypted/hashed, never in plain text), profile picture, and Google account identifier if you sign in with Google;
  • Resume content: the information you enter to build your resume (work experience, education, skills, languages, contact details, and any other section you add);
  • Payment data: the type of offer purchased, the amount, the currency, the payment method used (card via Stripe or Mobile Money), and the transaction identifier — never your full card number or Mobile Money credentials, which are handled directly by our payment providers;
  • Usage log: history of downloads, credits consumed, and requests sent to the AI Assistant (request type, timestamp, latency) — the content of your AI Assistant requests is not retained beyond immediate processing of the request;
  • Technical data: interface language preference, activity logs related to account security.

3. Purposes of Processing

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your account, and authenticate you;
  • Generate, preview, and produce your resume's PDF file;
  • Process your purchases of credits or unlimited access and deduct the appropriate credits;
  • Provide the AI Assistant features you request;
  • Ensure security, fraud prevention, and the proper functioning of the Service;
  • Contact you about your account or transactions (transactional emails);
  • Improve the Service and comply with our legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Data

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the following providers, to the extent necessary to deliver the Service, and subject to their own confidentiality obligations:

  • Stripe — card payment processing;
  • Our Mobile Money aggregator — mobile payment processing;
  • Anthropic — the AI model provider used by the AI Assistant;
  • Resend — sending transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts);
  • Our infrastructure hosting providers (database and file storage) — hosting your account, your Content, and the generated PDF files.

5. International Transfers

Some of our providers may process or store data outside your country of residence, including in the United States or Canada. We ensure these providers offer an adequate level of protection, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

6. Retention Period

We retain your account data and resume content for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation (including accounting or tax obligations) or to resolve a dispute.

AI Assistant request logs are retained solely for usage-limiting purposes (requests per day) and do not contain the content of the requests themselves.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: password hashing, restricted access to production data, and protection of generated PDF files. No system is infallible, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, and in particular if you reside in Québec (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, known as “Law 25”), you have the following rights over your personal information:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of the data we hold about you;
  • Right of rectification: have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
  • Right of deletion: request deletion of your account and data, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format;
  • Right to withdraw consent and right to object to certain processing.

9. Cookies and Trackers

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function (keeping you signed in and remembering your language preference). We do not use advertising cookies or trackers for marketing profiling.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data about children under 16.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any material change will be announced on the Service. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Policy or your personal information, write to us at contact@cv-canadien.com.
